"A picture is worth a thousand words"
So I'm pretty sure everyone heard the saying, "A picture is worth a thousand words." Well, this photo attests to it because of all the challenges and obstacles we endured to make this beautiful portrait. This was a shoot Lauren wanted for her mother's birthday present. Unfortunately, I was notified last minute, this was not the original location, and definitely not the intended weather. Quickly realizing the situation, I suggested the idea of shooting under the gray weather with a colorful umbrella with rain boots while Callie (the dog) had a mini raincoat. We scrambled to five stores to find everything just so we could have enough sunlight to shoot with, but we just ended up with an umbrella. What a waste. By the time we started shooting, it wasn't actually raining, instead it was sleeting and windy, which I felt so bad because they were both shivering. So I ended up taking 10 shots altogether in this neat little Lancaster City neighborhood and this beautiful photo was the first shot I took! Being able to quickly adapt to extreme circumstances and having a bit of luck is important. That is what photography is about! I also wanna thank Tom, my assistant. I couldn't have done it without you.
I had a request that was not typical of my subjects-a German Shepherd pup. After this experience, I felt like I wanted to take this puppy home. He was just that cute!
