Maya's Senior Portrait
I had never gotten my senior photos done. I actually never even knew there was such a thing besides the traditional senior photos for the yearbook. And that was awkward, especially being directed to some guy's house for the studio. It wasn't until I became a photographer when I found out senior photos were something beyond that yearbook photo...
It wasn't until I met Maya when I truly learned about it. Senior photos are a portraiture of their last steps in high school. It's a celebration of sorts ( I see it as documentation). I only have a few photos of being in my senior year and I wish I had more. It's so awesome to see how we can take note with a photograph of who we are, only to experience the real appreciation 10 plus years down the road.
Maya, based on my impression is a beautiful, spunky, young lady. She's a good listener too, since she followed my suggestions well.

I had a request that was not typical of my subjects-a German Shepherd pup. After this experience, I felt like I wanted to take this puppy home. He was just that cute!
It was decided that this needs to be a post about things NOT to do during a shoot. Though, I still got some good shots in!
Photographed Rebekah Faith, face painter of Joyful Canvas. She is so creative and talented with face paint and I had the chance to spend an evening with her during Lancaster's First Friday.
I really love cosplays and when I got the chance to photograph a portrait of one, I took it! This is Raksmey, who has been cosplaying for several years going to Otaku conventions and showcasing her work. I finally got the chance to photograph a portrait of her cosplaying as, "Celty Sturluson" from the Durarara!! series.
My friend Marisol happens to be a fire breather and she invited be to make a portrait of her. We sought out a place in the park during the night to shoot some fire breathing.
Maya is finally graduating! Photographed this smart and spunky, young woman at Amos Herr Park located in Landisville, PA.
